A Chemical Distribution Company located in Africa, is looking for an experienced Chemical Area Sales Manager to join their team in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across the African market.
- Meet and communicate with clients to understand their needs, solve issues, and build long-term partnerships.
- Find new business opportunities and expand the company’s presence in Africa.
- Set and follow sales plans to achieve targets and company goals.
- Present products, prepare offers, and negotiate contracts to close deals.
- Keep good relationships with existing clients and attract new ones.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor sales performance, track results, and report updates to management.
- Work closely with internal teams like marketing and operations to ensure smooth processes.
- Share feedback on products, pricing, and market needs.
- Follow up on quotations and stay in touch with clients regarding orders.
- Explore new markets and customer segments within Africa.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and industry changes.
- Attend events and meetings to promote the company and build connections.
- Prepare regular sales reports and plan client visits and travel schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the chemical industry or chemical trading/distribution within the African market.
- Proven experience in managing key client relationships and developing long-term partnerships in Africa.
- Strong understanding of the African market, including customer behavior, business practices, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to develop and execute sales strategies and achieve targets.
- Proficiency in sales analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ability to collaborate internally and provide valuable input on product and market strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Fluency in English and French (Arabic is a plus).
