Summary
A leading manufacturer and global distributor, headquartered in Zahle, Lebanon, is seeking a Plant Director to oversee and optimize all plant operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this strategic leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence across Production, Maintenance, and Logistics while ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and business continuity. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the company's long-term operational growth.
Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management
- Lead and oversee all plant operations, ensuring the achievement of production, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Develop and execute production plans and schedules to maximize efficiency and meet customer requirements.
- Optimize the utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to improve productivity.
- Monitor production performance through key operational KPIs, including output, yield, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Maintenance Management
- Direct preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment reliability and availability.
- Minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions through effective maintenance planning.
- Oversee maintenance interventions, resource allocation, and spare parts management.
- Monitor maintenance performance and drive continuous improvements in equipment efficiency.
Logistics & Warehouse Management
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and inbound/outbound logistics activities.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, effective stock control, and optimized material flow from receiving through production to customer delivery.
- Improve logistics performance while maintaining operational efficiency and service levels.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Drive plant performance by monitoring key operational metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), downtime, cost per unit, productivity, and waste.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, cost reduction, operational efficiency, and quality enhancement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes across Production, Maintenance, and Logistics functions.
Leadership & Risk Management
- Provide leadership and direction to the heads of Production, Maintenance, and Logistics.
- Take ownership of operational challenges, including equipment breakdowns, production delays, material shortages, and quality issues, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Ensure business continuity through proactive risk management and effective decision-making.
- Manage operational budgets and approve production schedules in line with business objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by executive management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive managerial experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, industrial maintenance, supply chain, inventory management, and logistics.
- Experience managing plant performance using operational KPIs such as OEE, productivity, efficiency, and cost metrics.
- Fluency in English, French, and Arabic is required.

Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with frequent visits to the manufacturing plant.
- Occasional travel for business meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when operational requirements demand.
- Business travel may be required.
